The Origin Of Chateau Issa

In the fertile embrace of Snaya, where the mountains hold a rich history, Chateau Issa's story is rooted in a land known for its deep heritage. Here, our tradition blooms amidst the historic pine and oak forests that guard our clay-rich soils. It's in this hallowed elevation of 900 meters that we cultivate the grapes for our distinguished Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon, each vine a thread in the fabric of our authenticity and unwavering dedication to quality.

The Winemaking Journey

Guided by the stars of excellence and passion, every step in Chateau Issa’s winemaking journey—from tending the vines to the alchemy of fermentation—is a testament to our commitment. Our philosophy intertwines Snaya's distinctive terroir with age-old traditions to craft wines of intricate textures and profound flavors, a celebration of Lebanese winemaking prowess.

The Seasons’ Influence

The dance of the seasons across Snaya’s sky molds our artistry. Spring’s tender breath awakens our vines, summer’s embrace ripens the bounty, and autumn’s crisp finale signals the time of harvest. This natural symphony bestows each Chateau Issa wine with the essence of Snaya, a bottled chronicle of time and terroir.

Agri-tourism haven

Chateau Issa is a sanctuary, an eco-retreat where the simplicity of nature blends with the luxury of fine wine. In this tranquil corner of Snaya, away from the bustle, we offer an escape—an opportunity to partake in the serene rhythm of winemaking and relish the untouched splendor of the Lebanese landscape.

Snaya’s enigmatic past

Snaya’s tapestry is rich with the threads of trade routes and cultural exchange. Its legacy, steeped in the mists of time, lends Chateau Issa’s wines an additional layer of mystique. The storied "blessed tree" stands sentinel, a symbol of our spiritual heritage, grounding us in the belief that every glass of wine is a communion with history.

Meet our visionary: Jihad Issa

The heart of Chateau Issa beats in rhythm with the passion of Jihad Issa, our founder, whose vision was sown in the same soil he once played upon as a child. Drawing inspiration from the venerable winemaking practices of Bordeaux, Jihad's dream has flourished, transforming a family vineyard into a winery that seamlessly blends tradition with modern innovation.

MEET OUR OENOLOGIST: DIANA SALAME

Diana Salame is the masterful oenologist at Chateau Issa, a key figure since the start of our winemaking journey. Her impressive depth of knowledge and passion for viticulture are reflected in every bottle we produce. Diana’s passion for wine began at a young age on her family's vineyard in Lebanon. She pursued her studies in France, earning a degree in oenology and a Master of Science from L’Institut Universitaire de la Vigne et du Vin in Dijon.

At Chateau Issa, Diana collaborates closely with our vineyard team, combining traditional methods with innovative techniques. Her expertise highlights the unique characteristics of Snaya’s terroir, and her meticulous approach and dedication result in wines celebrated for their elegance, complexity, and quality.

Our mission extends beyond viticulture; it is about fostering an agro-touristic experience where the beauty and culture of Snaya are as integral to the getaway as the wine itself.
